When chat is no longer the whole support job
DobroDesk is a Crisp Chat alternative for teams that need stronger ownership, service targets and review rules around customer support. It keeps email and website conversations in a chat-first Inbox, but treats the queue as an operation rather than a messaging feed.

The real difference
Crisp is strong at live chat, messaging, campaigns, co-browsing and flat workspace plans. For a small team that wants one customer communication suite, its breadth and pricing are genuinely hard to beat.
The friction appears when the shared inbox becomes an operating queue. Support managers need named ownership, service calendars, escalation rules, permissions, auditable AI decisions and a clean separation between channels, Inboxes and Teams. Those are the decisions DobroDesk puts at the center.
Switch when support discipline matters more than having co-browsing, video calls or marketing campaigns in the same product. Stay with Crisp when real-time chat and its broader communication toolkit are the job.
At a glance
Crisp's public plans use workspace tiers with included seats and AI credits. DobroDesk includes every teammate and meters accepted customer conversations.
Enter your monthly conversation volume and support team size. DobroDesk bills accepted conversations, Freshdesk and Intercom bill seats and Crisp moves between workspace tiers.

Reason
Crisp is the hardest of these comparisons to reduce to price. Its workspace plans are genuinely attractive, its chat product is broad and its paid tiers include many tools a small company would otherwise buy separately. The case for DobroDesk begins only when running a support queue matters more than owning a complete customer communication suite.
Reason 1
Crisp publishes a clear ladder: Free at $0, Mini at $45, Essentials at $95 and Plus at $295 per workspace each month. The plans include 2, 4, 10 and 20 or more agents. Extra Plus seats are listed at $10 per month. Conversations are unlimited. A team that fits the included seats and needs Crisp's communication tools gets a predictable base subscription, often with a better headline price than seat-based help desks.
The comparison changes when the required feature determines the tier. Shared email starts on Mini. Omnichannel channels, routing, automation, knowledge base and analytics sit on Essentials. The customer portal, white labelling, advanced analytics and broader AI-first suite sit on Plus. DobroDesk's EUR 15 base includes 300 accepted Conversations, unlimited teammates, AI and 3 active published Automations, with no Voice minutes or Phone. Voice is optional at EUR 29 per 100 purchased rollover minutes. Every active managed standard local number is a EUR 27 per month add-on that deposits 30 monthly Voice minutes into the shared rollover wallet. BYO Twilio connection and the first active BYO number are included; each additional BYO number is EUR 5 per month. Additional conversation packages are EUR 19, EUR 18 or EUR 17 per 1,000 by band. Neither model always wins. Price the plan that contains the work, not the first plan on the page.
Reason 2
Crisp covers website chat, shared email, WhatsApp, Instagram, SMS, Messenger, Line, Viber and phone across its plan range. It also offers campaigns, co-browsing, audio or video chat, a CRM layer, status pages and a large integration set. If customer communication includes sales conversations, live assistance and proactive engagement, keeping these tools together is a strong reason to choose Crisp.
DobroDesk is narrower on purpose. Channels describe where a message entered. Inboxes describe where support work is handled. Teams describe who may handle it. The product spends less space on marketing communication and more on ownership, service calendars, permissions, handoffs, customer and company context and a traceable reply. That trade is useful only for a company whose main problem is operating support. A team centered on real-time engagement should stay with Crisp.
Reason 3
Crisp's Inbox includes assignment, routing, private notes, reminders and sub-inboxes depending on plan. Essentials lists two sub-inboxes and Plus lists five. That may be enough for a small team separating sales from support or creating a couple of operational views. Pressure appears when Payments, Orders and Delivery need different people, permissions, service hours and escalation behavior rather than another folder inside the same communication workspace.
DobroDesk treats each Inbox as a real work queue. A Channel can feed an Inbox without becoming the Inbox. Several Channels can reach the same team and one Channel can be routed according to customer or message context. Unassigned, waiting and near-breach work remains visible. Opening a conversation never claims it. This sounds administrative until the first owner is away and a billing message has been sitting in the wrong place for four hours. Then the model decides whether the queue is trustworthy.
Reason 4
Crisp includes no AI credits on Free, $5 on Mini, $25 on Essentials and $75 on Plus. Its pricing page estimates roughly 90, 450 and 1,350 automated conversations at those paid levels. AI usage is token-sensitive and Crisp explains that fully handled conversations, Copilot work, summaries and other AI actions draw from the available balance. A team can enable pay-as-you-go or let new work hand off after the credit is used.
DobroDesk includes AI drafts and answers in accepted-conversation pricing. More important, it treats budget and permission separately. Approved knowledge may answer a routine question, while billing, privacy, security, legal, abuse, deletion and weak-evidence cases stop for a person. The source and decision remain visible in the conversation. Crisp may be the better AI platform for a team using its broader automation builder. DobroDesk is for a team that wants a smaller policy surface with a fixed human boundary.
Reason 5
Crisp offers live typing preview, proactive messages, translation, co-browsing and video or audio calls. Those tools can shorten a complicated sales or onboarding conversation because the agent can see the problem with the user. They also explain why Crisp comparison pages spend so much time on the widget. A company that helps customers inside a live product session should not discard that advantage to make its help desk look simpler.
Many B2B support cases move at a different pace. A customer sends logs by email, engineering checks the issue, finance confirms the account and the reply may go out an hour later. The hard part is preserving ownership and context across that delay, not seeing what the visitor types before Send. DobroDesk puts email and website messages into the same conversation model, but it does not claim to replace Crisp's co-browsing, campaigns or video toolkit. Choose based on the work customers actually ask you to do.
Reason 6
DobroDesk now has a native Crisp importer. It connects with a Website Token, reads conversations in a fixed update window and follows every message page back to the beginning. Conversations with a customer email bring public replies, internal notes, attachments, state, source inbox, assignee reference, segments and conversation data. Helpdesk articles arrive as unpublished drafts. A ten-conversation test runs before history and the final sync catches work created during the move.
That scope is useful, not magical. A visitor without an email cannot become a reliable DobroDesk customer automatically and stays in reconciliation. Crisp shortcuts are not imported as saved replies. Campaigns, co-browsing, video and channel credentials are product configuration, not conversation history, so they must be retired or rebuilt deliberately. Keep Crisp available until the team has checked awkward threads, attachments, owners and reply delivery. The importer removes a data-transfer project; it does not remove the cutover decisions.
When the queue gets busy
The test is what happens when the customer replies, the first owner is away and a billing decision needs review.
General, Payments or Orders can each have their own team, permissions, routing and service targets. The incoming channel stays separate from where work is handled.
Opening a conversation does not claim it. The queue shows what has no owner, what is waiting and what is nearing its service limit.
DobroDesk records the knowledge, risk rule and action behind a draft, automatic answer or handoff. Sensitive categories remain human by default.
Do not switch for a smaller feature list
Before cutover
DobroDesk connects with a Crisp Website Token, analyzes the source and imports a ten-conversation test before historical data. The importer fixes an update window so later pages do not shift while customers keep writing. Keep Crisp available until reconciliation is clean and the final sync is complete.

Current public facts

DobroDesk's EUR 15 base includes 300 accepted Conversations, unlimited teammates, AI and 3 active published Automations, with no Voice minutes or Phone. Voice is optional at EUR 29 per 100 purchased rollover minutes. Before leaving Crisp
It depends on team size, conversation volume and the Crisp tier required for your channels and AI credits. DobroDesk includes every teammate, while Crisp includes a fixed seat count per workspace tier. Model both with your real workload.
DobroDesk supports website conversations in the same support model as email. It is not trying to copy Crisp's full campaign, co-browsing and video toolkit.
Yes. The native importer brings conversations with a customer email, complete messages, internal notes, attachments and Helpdesk article drafts through a test, historical import and final sync. Conversations without email require reconciliation and Crisp shortcuts are not imported.
Choose it when support needs explicit ownership, Inboxes, Teams, service targets, permissions and audited AI decisions across email and website conversations.
Test the operating model
Import ten conversations, invite the people who handle them and run billing, privacy and absent-owner cases. Keep production routing in Crisp until history, ownership and reply delivery have been checked.
